A slender tree with a columnar shape about 10-15 meters in height and 3-5 in diameter. The trunk and skeletal branches have a silvery-gray color of the cortex. Branches are vertically directed. The leaves are red and carmine-red, then intensely green, shiny naked, from below are gray on red petioles. Autumn color is bright from yellow, orange to purple-red tones, depending on the growing conditions and the weather conditions of autumn. The underside of the leaves becomes pinkish-silvery. Blooms in April before the leaves bloom. Flowers are orange-red on long pedicels in little-flowered inflorescences. The flowers are decorative due to the stamens and pistils that are distinguished from the perianth. Immature lionfishes are red. It grows quickly.
Light-loving, tolerates partial shade, good coloring of leaves in autumn occurs in illuminated places. Under full sunlight, the crown is narrow-lined, in shading the branches are spread out and the crown is more spread out.
